Okay I installed the Apsi drivers and I restarted my comp for them to take effect and then after I restarted they werent there anymore....
I use nero and when I opened it it said that the apsi drivers were missing so at first I didnt knwo much about the subject so I jsut downlaoded a new burner software and installed that, afterwards it instructed me to restart for the APSI drivers to take effect and when I restarted and opened the program it said that my APSI files were not set up properly.
So I went and downloaded winapsi32 and updated it and that still didnt work.
I recently had problems with my cd-rom driver in that it wasn't there and my comp would not recognize the dirve.
I downloaded a driver and it fixed the problem but now it will only play music and not record it.

I'm not at hoem now so I haven't tried the solutions at this link: http://cd-rw.org/articles/archive/aspisetup.cfm

So I appologize for posting this if it was not necessary but I suspect those solutions will not work.
It seems to me that my comp(which I recently had reformatted) is not letting the apsi driver install itself/stay installed.

Thank You for any help you are able to provide.

    I'm on windows 98
I think that I already downlaoded that but I'm not sure, I thought it was for 2000,NT, and XP only.
    Right or wrong?

Ah I figured as muc.... W98 if i recall, comes with ASPI and the version it comes with is the version you should use. One only encounters an ASPI problem if one is running 2K/XP because 2K/XP doesnt come with ASPI.

Well actually I don't think thats quite an accurate thing to say.
I had to manually reinstall the aspi drivers that nero needed because they simply weren't there anymore.
So I did encounter problems just not the same problems as you were thinking of.

btw I would appreciate anyone checking out my other post about image recorder because I still can't get my burner to work correctly.

err just one more lil question I assume this is not a aspi problem now because I do have the drivers in the right places and they are staying there so should I still run the programs in the aspi guide thing.
