Well lets just say i was being lazy and asked my wife to reinstall xp on the pc while i was half asleep. I didnt take the time to ask her or check if it was on the correct hard drive and it got installed on the 80 gig D drive thats used to store programs, pics etc instead of the 20 gig C drive i use for the OS. Now i would like to know if theres a way to get back all the data that was on the D drive of it if thats possible.

I only have two harddrives the C and D. Would i be able to get the data back with only 2 drives or would i need a third drive for the recovery. I think she did used the first option for the install, the quick install or quick formatt. If i cant get the data back i can live with that but if its anyway to get it back I would like to know, and I would like to know the simplest process possible.

When I say I want the simplest process possible am thinkin along the lines of if the program can see the other hard drive i can just pick that drive and have it just get all that lost data back, I just want everything back I had on that hard drive nothing more and nothing less.

Once overwritten, the chance of getting all your data back is very slim.
Try getting in someone who does computers for a living, cause you won't be able to do this by yourself.

Ok thxz for the reply The_Fiend, now am just waiting for someone to back up your statement and I will makeup my mind after that. It was prolly 70 gigs full but if the process is goin to be more than a 2 man fix and 24 hour investment, then i will let it go.
