My Hard Drive for my xbox has died I think... it's making a clicking sound so i'm just assuming it is. So I was wondering if there is a way for me to take a regular Hard Drive and put it in my unmodded xbox? Please give me a link or really easy step by step instructions to doing this. Thanks you!

sorry, same thing happened to me, unfortunately the only way to fix that is to mod you box, an unmodded box doesn't really give you that much access to swap a hd. The problem with that is i modded mine almost 2 years ago, put in a 120 gig hd, now that is crappin out on me, my advice, do allot of research on which mod to get, and who is doing it, and don't assume that a bigger hd is better, that's what i did and i am kind of regretting it, go for quality. Another thing is your cd drive was the first thing to crap out on me, so linking it to your pc is the way to go. good luck....

I don't think that is possible to accomplish while your xbox original hd doesn't work. Does your xbox menu even come up? Those instructions basically link your hd, to an external hd, or your pc. Problem with that is you better know what your doin, cuz that could give you one heck of a headache if something goes wrong. The easiest way is to chip your box and just replace your hd with a new one, go to somebody who knows what they are doing and it will save you allot of stress.

I'm not doing it by myself! I didn't even understand the tutorial myself! I gave it to my dad who understood it perfectly. When I turn on the xbox the only thing that comes up is a error code 7.

but that means I have to put a mod chip in it, which I don't want to do.
