Installing a proccessor

    Im trying to install a new proccessor from another computer but when i switched them. Everytime i turned on the computer the monitor would not turn on. ?????? PLS Help

    They are both 478 socket.

    is the new cpu compatible with the board as i had that problem with my previous 478 board when trying to install a celeron d cpu on a board that can't take it because of the bios.

    goto the mobo website and find out if your mobo is compatible with the new cpu.

    it might say that it is with a perticular bios revision, which will mean you need to update your bios.

    if there is a bios update available which there wasn't for me.
