Installing an OS on external drive

    well im running xp on my primary drive right now. And i have this external hard drive(500gb) that connects through a high speed 2.0 usb port. I dont really use it so i was wondering if this could be one. ive read some forums and it can, but i wanted my own opinions.I was thinking of running mac. Any advice/help is appreciated.

    well i was wondering how to do it.not what to put on it im already experienced with linux.I want mac so if anyone could help soon.thanks
