I'm trying to install Rome:Total War but it keeps stopping at a certain file and comes up with an error message saying 'Feature Transfer Error', Component - Data, File - E:\Data.cab, Error - Data Error (cyclic redundancy check).

Can anyone tell me what this means? I assume its because Ive scratched the Disc (even though its pretty much brand new) so I was wondering if anyone knew if i can copy the cd contents to a virtual drive on the computer and then install it from there? And if so, how do i do that????

Thanks in advance to anyone who can answer this x

yes, your disk is 1) corrupted or 2) scratched
and you are missing that file
here is what you can do, though it is stealing
download utorrent, and if your planning to use utorrent more often, then you should port foward it, but if this is a one time thing, then don't bother
download this torrent and run it with utorrent
    http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/3721885/Rome_Total_War
let it run until it finishes, (if you get really bad speeds like less than >20kb/s. then go here http://portforward.com/routers.htm and follow the steps
then download daemon tools (search google) and run it, there should be an icon in the right hand corner. Right click and click on a virtual drive. Mount the first .bin file and it will run. When the game asks for disk 2, unmount the .bin and mount the second one and do the same for the third disk. then go to where you installed the game and find a folder named crack. Take the .exe file in that folder and replace the origional .exe file. run the game
    hope that helps
