Hi all, I've downloaded the latest firmware for the SV4 USB today, when I put the stick in the usb port i get the options of deleting, formatting or renaming the file - with the previous firmware it was just a case of hitting "ok" and waiting for box to reboot - am I doing something wrong? Any help greatly appreciated.

Tried that Millrot, still no joy. Do I select "format"? Or do I need to do a factory default first?

if you load the latest bin file / firmware file onto the stick, press HDD on the remote and there you will see the BETA file you just added in the list of files now on the stick, highlight the beta file and press ok and then it will start installing, do not remove the USB at any stage until the box has restarted fully or you will brick it. patience is virtue.

Thanks for that Mickah, I'll give that a go when I get home...I'm a bit of a newcomer to this & didn't want to press anything that might give me a dead box! Thanks again.

Tried that Mickah but still no joy...I have the BETA file highlighted but nothing happens when I hit "HDD" or "OK", the only options I'm given are - delete file / format / change filename......any ideas?

Select the right file and press ok on the remote. Then select yes to perform data restore.

I'm having the same problem. got everything working on the 12th of June but BBC and UTV are gone now. Got the upgrade from this site but it is a .exe file and ok function is not available. Have we got the upgrade in the right file format? The file name is 4shared_Desktop_3.0.1. A step by step guide would be great for a real novice like me. Thx

Ok, easy way is to format the USB stick in the Starview, once done turn the SV off, remove the USB Stick, connect to your PC and drop the file onto it, make sure the file is BIN file, not RAR or EXE. Once this is on, connect the USB stick to the SV, turn the box on, once its on, press the HDD button on the remote, on the stick you will see the file you put on, the BIN file, using the remote, highlight the file and then press OK, on the screen, it will tell you its updating and dont remove the USB, this bit is vital.

Once the box is updated it will turn its self off and reboot. once the box comes on fully, press menu, system set up and then go to Factory reset and press OK to reset, once done, choose installation, choose your provider and then Auto Scan, when its finished scanning and found the chans, press exit and exit back to the main menu,

type 1570 on the remote, turn the EMU on bu tapping down to keycode and press across to turn it on, exit all the way out to a chan and thats it.

I repeat, do not remove the USB at any stage of this, until you totally finished the above. Never remove a USB from the SV when its plugged in or powered on, this causes problems

All good Mickah, thanks for the help! RAR File needs to be converted to a BIN File, I did this using Winrar and the rest is pretty straightforward, thanks again.

Thanks for the help. It was a rar file and I did not have anything to extract it with. Downloaded it and the problem is solved. All working here. New to this so help was most welcomed. Thanks again!
