installing new hard drive

    i'm getting a 300 gig harddrive, checked the compatibility and it is compatible with the XBox but im wondering can you use UnleashX to install the harddrive with? cuz ive only seen it for evox, and for some reason i can only ftp with unleashx, and yea, i have a softmod

    also anyone know where to get homebrew halo 1/2 multiplayer maps

    I used Krayzie's NDure Installer for my softmod and it comes with an rescue disc that allows you to replace the dashboard. If you get the EVOX files and put them in the DASHBOARD directory and go through the menus to replace the dash, you can replace UnleashX with EvolutionX and follow the tutorials that way :D

    As for Halo maps, I don't know where you can get homebrew Halo 1 maps. However there's a great app for Halo 2 maps: Mimesis http://www.projectmimesis.org/
    This program allows you to get modded Halo 2 maps from their servers but you need to have Halo 2 1.1 for the maps to work.

    k how do i know what version of h2 i have, and does that way of doing the evolutionx with replacing the dash & stuff require ftp? because my computer wont do it with evolutionx

    When you load the Halo 2 disc, at the main menu in the bottom-right corner is the version. If you have 1.1, you're all set. If you use Live you may have to use the Mimesis AutoUpdater patch because Live updates the Halo 2 version so you can't use unsigned maps.

    As for the FTP settings, you need to make sure that the network settings on your dashboard and in the Krayzie's Extras settings. Then use an FTP program (don't use IE) and connect to your xbox. I recommend FileZilla because I know it works :D Just connect using the XBox IP, the username , the password and the port number.

    i use flashfxp to ftp to my unleashx xbox already
    i had evox installed before with the exact same settings but FTPing didnt work
    so as far as i know i have to have unleashx...

    I'm doing a backup of my Xbox at the moment because I'm getting a bigger HDD and I use Avalaunch as my dash. I've put a post up asking if I can just use my rescue disc and XBOX-HDM to upgrade my HDD. I'll let you know when I get an answer. If it works in the way I asked, it will apply to you as well, and you will just have to use FlashFXP to get to your C drive and E drive (when you have UnleashX loaded).

    I think the reason why people tend to use EVOX is that EVOX backs up the EEPROM. I don't know much about UnleashX but if you can back up the EEPROM then you're pretty much set. But I'll have to let you know if it will work that way.

    yea mines a softmod and i can backup eeprom using knave's ndure with the splinter cell xploit

    i hope it can work...
