Installing Sony hdd tools disk on pal ps2!!

    Heey, i've downloaded the sony hdd tools disk to install the necessery files to my harddisk and make the hdd show up in browser.

    I have a pal ps2. Many of you know the harddisk will not be released in europe (really angry about it).
    So there also will not be a pal version of the sony hdd tools disk.
    When trying to install files with ntsc version hdd tools disk, the disk will freeze at ps2 logo. I am not the only one!!! Everyone with pal ps2 has this problem.

    But I do wan't to use the machine id changer to change my id into ntsc id and after that try to boot the hdd tools disk.
    This must be possible right???

    But when I download the paradox machine id changer (tryed different sites) I get a bin cue. When i open it up it shows contents of Winxpvol Eng.
    What is this????? this is really strange. I'm really confused

    Please someone can advice how to do this.

    i assume you're talking about a non sony hdd then?

    in which case your efforts would be wasted anyways

    since the official sony hdd tools will not recognise a non sony hdd

    it is recognize if you have the patch and a American ps2

    I would like to know some in-depth information on patching non sony hdd. I play online with socom and I've been trying to figure out how to enable the HDD in SOCOM. I got a bunch of games on my 80gig with HDLOADer.

    Well i have a matrix infinity so the Atad patching wich is necessary is automaticly done by my chip.
    So there's no problem with that. And yes I'm talking about a non sony hdd.

    The problem for me and al other pal users is: when booting the ntsc version of sony hdd tools it will freeze at the ps2 logo. So it must be reconizing the pal ps2 and freeze. This is a protection on the ntsc hdd tools disk so pal users can't use it.

    So I wan't to use the machine ID changer to make my pal ID an ntsc ID.
    I'd like some support in this because I don't wan't to end up with a broken ps2!

    My second problem: when I download the machine id changer and open up the bin/cue file inside I see content of WinXPvolENG. What's this???? I was expecting a couple of .elf files. Why this content is in the rar file??
