Installing Win98SE

    I am trying to re-install the Win98SE OS on a friends machine having wiped the hard drive. Every time it reads the CD rom it says 'Disc boot error-insert system disc' I have tried with ME and XP discs all with the same message.
    Any advice please. I have followed the same procedure on other machines and had no trouble.

    Try reformating disc before clean install.

    cd rom drive might be shafted try puting a different one in

    Thanks for advice. I reformatted ok and tried a different CD Rom. All ok now.
