Installing Windows XP. HELP

I have a genuine Windows XP Professional SP2 CD. My old hard drive crashed, well got fried and I got a new one. So I start loading Windows on the new hard drive everything was fine until I got to where you put the product key in. I have lost the product key. I thought no big deal because I still have the bar code on the CD case. So I contact Microsoft and tell them what I got and they tell me I am SOL, buy a new copy. I just want to know how can I get around this, because I already bought Windows one time I don’t want to buy it again.

 

get a crack or one of those warez versions (hint:use google)

 

How can I use a crack when I can't get the windows installed. What is a warez versions. Used google for the past 3 hours and no luck but i'll try again. Thanks

 

well isnt the key on the barcode sticker on the cd case? or on the computer itself?

 

The bar code does not have the right amount of numbers. It is 038648-956214. The computer came with Windows ME. I bought XP back in 2003 to put on the computer.

 

your product key should be on the inside cover of your cd case. you're saying it's not?

 

No. The only case that I have is the paper case that came with it. The product key was in the little book that came with it and who knows where that is.

yupps. time to enroll as a student somewhere and then buy a new $25 copy of XP.

 

Looks like I'm going to have to get a new copy of XP. Man this sucks. Bet I won't lose the new product key. Thanks for the help, now I'm going to ebay.

 

You can always use a key generator.

 

I used a key generator but had no luck. I generated about 20 keys but none of them worked so I gave up.

key generators are paramount to cracks. you're going to get banned if you don't keep the convos limited to things that are at least legal in most countries or private in PMs.
