can get updated drivers from the chipset manufacturers not motherboard manufacturer! xp will load it's own driver so you will know what to get but is not always accurate as seen xp describe 1 card to be from different manufacturer than what was on the chipset of that card.

so it should be quite easy finding the drivers if some are missing also after installing mce and something goes wrong would i be able to than use my recovery disc which came with my comp to bring the pc back to normal like i bought it or will that not work as i will have to format the harddrive to install mce and delete whatevers on it

yes as fairly easy to find the driver as long as you know who makes it. the recovery cd's will put the compter back to factory fresh but the drivers might be outdated & you'll loose all info on the drive that you wanted saved.
