    hello everyone,

i just recently bought a D-Link AirPlus G DWL-G520+A Wireless PCI Adapter and installed the drivers, then opened up my computer and isntalled the card into pci slot as it said to in the manual. according to the manual though it says that i have to restart the computer and isntall the rest of the drivers. when i restart it should say Found New Hardware and then resume the installations.on my computer it doesnt do that and when i go to device manager it says under network adaptesr that i have installed it, but there is an exclamation mark in a yellow bubble over it. and when i click properties on the adapter is says 'this device cannot start (code 10)'. also when i ran the driver cd again it says "Error -1607: Unable to Install InstallShield Scripting Run Time".

    thanks for any help

    maneesh

In the control panel where it has the yellow exclamation point. Right click it and remove it. Then re-boot the computer. Maybe then the computer will recognize the new hardware.

While you are there you could try to update driver from the software you have, but I don't think that will work. Give my first thought a try first.

    Thanks ddp!

You don't want to remove or uninstall the software. You just want to remove the device from the control manager so that when the computer is rebooted it will recognize it.

Highlight the item in the device manager and at the bottom you will see a button, "Remove", press that then reboot the machine.

there is no remove anywhere, there is only uninstall, disable or update driver.
