Hey i got an XP Home SP1 install cd. I load it up and i get DR-DOS, i go into fdisk to format the drive but it says it cant because its in STANDARD MODE, how do i get out, and then whats the command to get it to install XP. Thanks
ok is your bios set to boot from cd ? if so if dr dos is still appearing dowload a win 98 boot disc from here and fdisk your drive http://freepctech.com/pc/002/files010.shtml then repartition your drive dont worry about formating the instalation disk will do that for you
have your floppy disk and your HDD been right configurated in bios. Also when you didn't use the right disk there will be errors.
i am not an idiot. Everything is setup right. I put in the XP SP1 install disk. I get DR-DOS A:/ , so i naturally go setup. Which I know will start the install but i get an error. this DR-DOS thing sucks. I would like to know if there is a DOS version that boot via UBS. ""xbade !1!!!111!11!11!!!11!!Newbie!!!11!!!11111!!!11!1111! have your floppy disk and your HDD been right configurated in bios. Also when you didn't use the right disk there will be errors."" sucka a lemon, i like em. You dont know jack.
Bird7, knock off the attitude!!!. dr-dos is digital research dos like the same as ms-dos 6 series. does the xp cd actually bootup at all??
the xp cd boot and it says DR-DOS A:/ yeah thats all nice but when i type setup like a normal DOS would understand this doesnt work. I get the error. I dont know why. is DR-DOS advanced, am i not doing something right?
