instances of firefox

    ok just wondering if theres a way to only allow 1 instance of firefox, trying to get my friend in the habbit of using tabs instead of multible instances, thanx for any help.

    what do you mean by instances? if you mean tabs then just hold 'ctrl and T' then that should open a new tab without you opening a new browser of Firefox hope this helped.

    Also, instead of pushing alt + tab you can just middle click (mouse wheel) links to open them in new tabs.

    What what do you mean instances?

    no i mean windows, so when you click on the firefox shortcut it will bring up the browser that is already running instead of a new window,
    i hope that makes sense.

    you can't open new windows of fire fox thats why you have the tab's CTRL+T

    If you want a new window hit Controll + N

    he knows about tabs. he wants his friend to only be able to have one firefox window open. no matter what his friend does, he wants it to just open a new tab, not a new window (like with Internet Explorer). as far as i know, most option can be set to just open things in a new tab except actually clicking the desktop shortcut for firefox. just delete that, as he'll never want to go through the start menu more than once for FF and get used to it quickly.
