insurance claim for cingular

    when a customer service ask what phone did i lost so they can give me a new phone, do u think that they know what phone do u have already or can i just name any model of phone i want?

    Most likely they want to authenticate that it is the correct phone you are speaking about, but if you feel risky, act dumb and say it was one phone. If they know what phone you had all along just say, oh I thought it was that one.

    I would think there is a record of the contract you signed or if you later upgraded that has the phone information on it.I know my Cingular does. Also only certain phones work with certain carriers. What if you tell them the wrong phone, they may make you sign a new contract with newer higher fees. If you want better phone now is the time to upgrade. Otherwise take your chances?

    Edit: If this an insurance claim, I would almost bet they know. No one writes an insurance policy without stipulating what's insured.
