    1. Personal preference
    2. It is my experience that Intel is better (faster) at multimedia operations such as decoding video, etc., but I have not done a scientific evaluation.
    3. AMD is generally cheaper.
    4. Intel and AMD marketing specs are totally different.
    5. There are other technical differences and whether or not they are relevant to you required a better definition of what you are going to use the PC for, application that you are going to run.

Since you did not specify which two processors you are comparing, it's impossible to provide a detailed technical answer.

Sorry I see you moved it. I am trying to learn here.
Am I able to give specs of a few laptops I am considering to see what others think so I can try to decide which one to get?
I do not know if this is allowed or not and appreciate your input

Thanks--here are 3 laptops I am looking at. All are within $30 dollars of each other. I am hoping someone can steer me in the right direction for a laptop that I use for embroidery software and surfing the net and a family who will use it for some games.
    Thanks

Intel CPU's nowadays are faster than AMD's mhz to mhz generally. So the AMD is slower and have 1 gig less ram.

I am an AMD fan to the end, but I cannot say I recommend the AMD laptop.

With the intels, they are both inspiron 15's with a T4400 CPU and 4GB a ram. I'd assume they are the same computer with a few diff options (maybe some software differences or accessories?)
