I have made a copy of a fairly new purchace (very pricey for this original - I might add.) In fact, I have duplicated it with both "DVDSmith Movie Backup" and with "Any DVD Clone".

In both cases I manage to have all kinds of the required files but in both cases, I get the message - "THIS DISC IS NOT FORMATTED TO PLAY IN THIS REGION."

However, I can install the very same DVD into the play tray - open any of my playback media and the disk plays flawlessly.

    I'm stumped

dreary mundane probem actually.. the disk copy obviously is the wrong region.. so you need to rip it again and run it in a program like dvd shrink to drop the region code or set it to whatever region you need.

most PC drives are region free and don't care.. but standalones.. especially the pricier branded ones tend to be.. it's all a big scam.

I'll give SHRINK a try. Funny thing though, the 2nd burn was from a 2nd copy of the same title... and the playbacks were done on the computer.
