I have a 2.5in ATA HD from a left over laptop. Any chance this will work in my PS3? Is their any harm in trying it? I wouldn't want to damage the PS3. Thanks a bunch.
i think its only a serial ata (sata) that will work. you need a 5400rpm or above, I've got a Seagate 200gb, 7200rpm and 10mb cache, and there is actually quite a noticeable difference with load time from the HD.
That is to be expected. 7200 RPM is almost .5X faster than 5400RPM. Glad to hear that is working well for you.
