Internal Hard Drive ?

    I have a 2.5in ATA HD from a left over laptop. Any chance this will work in my PS3? Is their any harm in trying it? I wouldn't want to damage the PS3. Thanks a bunch.

    i think its only a serial ata (sata) that will work. you need a 5400rpm or above, I've got a Seagate 200gb, 7200rpm and 10mb cache, and there is actually quite a noticeable difference with load time from the HD.

    ye same here, i got a toshiba 200gb sata 7200rpm and its a huge difference with the load time.

    What is it? ....Faster or slower than the one that came with the PS3?

    That is to be expected. 7200 RPM is almost .5X faster than 5400RPM. Glad to hear that is working well for you.
