OK... When I got to Google and Yahoo and enter in a search term, the results pop up but when I click on one of them, I am redirected somewhere totally different. Also, when i try to go to certain sites such as lavasoft.com, it will not let me and just gives me an error like it is not working. This also happens when I try to update my definition lists and other spyware software. Lastly, when I try to open or save certain programs I get an error that states that the file is corrupt when I know it isnt. The HOST file is the Blocking list. Sounds like you have malware that has hijacked your HOST file, in order to block any attempt to download any anti-malware program or definitions that will remove it. In order to over ride this, disable the HOST file. It is a hidden file. To enable the viewing of Hidden files follow the instructions here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial62.html Then navigate to C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc Locate the file -> HOST (no extension) and rename it to -> HOST.txt This will disable the HOST file and allow you to access the links that are being blocked. Thank you for the help. However, it is still not letting me download anything, update anything or get proper info from my searches. I was able to try and download something but the file was supposed to be 1.6megs but it only downloaded 165k. I notices this happened the other night too. Whatever it is does not allow me to get the full file. Please help!! This is killing me.
