internet continues to slow down the longer computer it has been on. i have windows xp, norton security(which return nothing for virus scan), and i have checked the internet connection on a different computer with windows 7 and the internet works fine. any fixes to this problem would be greatly appreciated.
drive fragmented.. most likely fragged pagefile .. browser cache full.. drive full of temp files.. list is endless.. browsers cache images and video to hdd as temp files.. drive gets stuffed full of crap, runs out of space and starts fragmenting the cached files.. computer struggling running shiteware windows with norton and other crap then struggles to cache and recover files resulting in major slowdown.... seems to clear on reboot as browser cache will be empty for a time but clogup and slowdown comes back with a vengance after looking at a few pages... my opinion.. hdd stuffed full and fragmented.. browser cache to ram too small. clean up the drive and defrag .. increase the size of the pagefile or allow the browser to cache more to ram before paging out. REMOVE NORTON COMPLETELY and install something that works and will offer at least some minimal protection from malware.. norton offers nothing of any worth..it's garbage. Came bottom of the recent atti-virus tests.. narrowly beating macfee and kaspersky into bottom place... Currently the new kid on the block Rising .. is doing well .. almost as good as ClamAV Insights into how browsers work.. interesting eh?
