Internet Explorer Icon Problem

Before, when I went into Display Properties\Desktop\Customize Desktop, there was an Internet Explorer check box there so I could choose if I want the IE icon on the desktop or not. I disabled the icon a while ago and now I want it back, but the problem is that the check box for the IE icon is not there anymore. Can someone please tell me how to get the check box for IE back. I know how to get the icon back (I just create a shortcut from the explorer.exe file in the IE directory), but can someone please tell me how to get that check box back?

I think you will find everyone's will look the same. I know mine does. I don't mean to sound rude here but if you can make a shortcut manually whats the big deal? Maybe you have installed a windows update recently, ie7 or service pack etc. for this to change.

 

Yeah I know it is not a big deal, but I would still like to know if anyone knows how to fix this.

 

The show IE option disappeared from the desktop cutomization menu after Security Update MS07-061.

Thanks for the help. I was hoping for the check box back too, but if you don't know how to fix that, it's fine. I used that software for much more than just fixing my IE icon. Thanks a lot. If anyone knows how to get that check box back, feel free to tell me how.
