Ok first i'll give you a rundown of my problem then list everything that i've tried to fix it. I'm running a hp pavillion computer with windows xp. About 3 or 4 weeks ago i caught a virus couldn't fix it so i reformatted my drive not once but twice messed something else up lol. Then everything was running fine no problems faster computer everything good then this past week all of a sudden boom, my internet stopped loading some websites. At first i thought it was just the site because it was a school site then i went on my laptop same network and it worked fine. So now like every 1 in 3 sites doesn't work. I can get my homepage and google and that's pretty much it. I've searched and searched for a soultion and still nothing here's what i've done.

    1. Updated to ie 8
    2. downgraded to ie 6
    3. upgraded to ie 7
    4. registered the 5 main dlls they tell you to
    5. ran cccleaner
    6. deleted all temp files and cookies
    7. flushed ip dns
    8. checked if it's automatically detected
    9. ran norton 360 antivirus
    10. turned off all antivirus software
    11. reset modem, and router

I think that about covers it, please someone save me.

I have the same problem that you're having and around the same time too. I also have no problem accessing google, my homepage and yahoo mail. These are the things I've done so far:

    1) disk cleanup

    2) ran Adaware pro (found some not too serious spywares)

    3) ran Norton.

    4) ran disk defrag (always helps me when computer is running slow)

    5) lowered internet security to medium-low.

    6) changed internet security back to medium.

    7) Updated to the newest version of flash player (because we're having problem playing videos in the web).

My computer is running great! But still no luck accessing most websites?

The websites I go to has alot of graphics (pictures and videos). So I thought maybe it's my graphic card (outdated)?? But the thing is my wife has a new computer (top of the line gaming pc) and she has the same problem as I do. I used my computer at work (4 years old computer, configured practically the same as my pc) and went to the same websites I'm having problem accessing at home and they all worked! No loading problem. Which leads me to think, maybe it's my connection?? Are you having problem playing video from youtube or any other sites that plays video? Only plays 30 seconds, 3 seconds or not at all? Do you happen to have Comcast?

I think I will call Comcast. I will post if I find the solution.

hahaha. . . My wife complains of same websites!! Anyway, I just called them and they just reset my modem (you could do that yourself). Everything is back to normal. Also, they send a technician tomorrow to check all cables, just in case it came loose from the last snowstorm (the one with the strong winds) a week ago.
