My aunt has just recently given me her old winbook xl2 pentium 2 laptop. i cant download half the things i try to on the internet bc it requires internet explorer 6. i have 5. when i download 6 or make an attempt at it at least it says i have to reboot bc another internet explorer download is in progress. i reboot and try again and i just keep gettin the same message. Someone plz help me out on this!!!!!!
Try booting up in safemode with networking and then try downloading internet explorer 6. Not sure if this will work but worth a shot. Safe mode: while computer is booting up, keep tapping "f8" until you get to a screen with a bunch of selections. Select safe mode with networking and then later on, a box should pop up and just select "yes"
