Ok, recently I've switched from an old belkin router (the cheapest one out there) to a new D-Link router (which is much better). The D-Link did not work at first so I phoned my internet provider's techinical support (I have DSL) and in the end it started working after I put my modem in bridged mode. Now, I don't know if the new router is helping or not. Everything is suppose to be faster, but it's not. When I play online games I tend to lag out less often, but downloads are slower for some reason. I'm downloading a PS3 update file right now at 14.4 KB, which is super low and unusual even for my connection (DSL). Is it the new router? Is it bridged mode? Is this the right forum to ask this question in? Thanks.
moved to correct forum. how is your modem, router & pc connected to each other? is there other pc's or game consoles connected too?
