I have verizon DSL and it the fastest version you can get which is 3MB/s i believe. well heres my problem. my friend has the same exact modem as me and internet service/speed yet his is faster than mine and has no problems. My computer i kno has some spyware and probably a virus or 2 lol (sisters fault not mine). the problem is say for example im on AIM. The connection constantly lags. by this i mean it kind of freezes to the point where i have to log off aim and log back on. also on downloads anything larger than say 80MBs will freeze and i have to cancel them and restart the download. Could all of this be because of my computer with the spyware/viruses. Its the computer thats hooked to the modem and router and it does effect the speed of my laptop which has the same problems with AIM and so on. Any hlep would be appreciated since i've been tryin to figure this out for almost a year and a half now. P.S. Sorry for posting this in the wrong section, I didnt notice until now.
