    Hello there,

Im new here n jus started using a laptop. I have burned mny DVDs before using NERO but of recently all I get is "Invalid block message" or jus burn process failed at about 3%. I tried to re install Nero n gt Nero 8 but its same problem there too. I ran a nero speed test n I got " No seek complete" message. I went thru similar threads but most of them were talking bt firmware n drives. I jus wanted to confirm the problem from my error log. Can anyone help me out plz. Cheers n Peace.

Ty very much cyprusrom for the reply. I have checked the DMA. In device 0 DMA if available n current transfer mode is PIO
device 1 DMA if available n current transfer mode is not applicable. autodetection is on.

I do not have Roxio installed on my laptop. I had used the nero burner jus 2 weeks back to burn some dvds n it did without a hitch. The problem started jus few days back. I tried installing Nero again too but the problem still persists :-(

You do have a Roxio driver installed. Run Roxio Zapper.
So, did you change your DMA to on? Follow the directions, uninstall the drives and restart your laptop.

Your DMA has slipped into PIO mode which you dont want...switch to DMA mode.
