    I've had no problems whatsoever and have been burning happily with my TEAC DV-W58G, but all of a sudden it stopped recording properly. In simulation, it records without any buffer underruns. I'm using media, which has never failed me before (PHILIPS DVD-R), but now I get these msgs: "Invalid Field In Command" and "Invalid Track Info".
    Firmware is updated, media is ok, dunno what else could be wrong.

    Just my 2 cents to add to creaky - Invalid Field In Command / Invalid Track Info - can be a media or drive problem. Your discs mid is Maxell (mxl) which is good. So let's try the drive - try a lens cleaner or some compressed air. Maybe it's a little dusty in there and screwing things up.

    Thanx for the welcome!
    And, well, still doesn't work. I've updated Nero to the latest version and I still get a write error. No more "Invalid" msgs though.

    I've downgraded my firmware to H4S3 so it recognizes some maxell media, however for this simulation i've been using philips dvd-r.

    Well I see one problem right off the bat! Those Philips -R
    Ugh! Probably the worst manufacturer. Which leads into this error:
    Try those maxell or pick up some Sony or Fuji (look for made in Japan)
    or Verbatim DataLifePlus.

    It works! The dvd lens cleaner did the job. Just a "hygiene problem", go figure. Thanks everybody for the help!
    Thanks, binkie7!

    @leozingy -

    you'll only have limited success with the utter rubbish media, and for continued success you'll need to use better media, the problem with CMC is it's inconsistent... bear that in mind or you'll be back here again..

    @milan24 -

    - update to 7.0.1.2 from here - http://www.nero.com/nero7/eng/nero7-up.php

    that's all i can see wrong in the logfile, i don't think that the Nero update is gonna help this problem... maybe try different discs...it could just be that your burner doesn't like them......

    If this is an IDE drive, how would the following be interpreted?

    @attar - not sure, i guess the only way to tell would be if you used 'image recorder' instead of a burner... i'll try it out when i get home...

    Have you tried cleaning your drive's lens? Sony should be some pretty good stuff but as creaky said maybe your drive doesn't like them.
    This may not help but I would turn off the simulation and just do a burn.

    i have tried lens cleaner, but the cleaning cd doesnt work with my dvd writer (because the music failed to play), it works with my dvd-rom. i have tried another software "Click 'N Burn CD & DVD" which burned a working dvd. however, when i use it with "display disc information" in nero, it has an option of "close disc".

    my dvd-writer fails after the writing data is 100%, which i think it is fail at the close disc or write lens out.

    thanks
