IO Drive

I have an I\O magic internal dvd rw, for some reason when I insert a blank dvd-r (sony) and then click on my computer it changes the drive from a dvdrw to a cdrw. I've tried another brand of dvd also and the problem still persists. It was working fine until two weeks ago. Need Help, Thank You.

 

Is your firmware up to date. Try that first.

 

Where can I go to update the firmware?

 

Here is the I/O Magic fw site, scroll down and see if your burner is listed. Or you can try the support tab and browse the site. I/O Magic uses a lot of rebadged burners so yours can be any one of a number of burners.

I updated the drive but I still have the same problem.

 

Does your drive burn okay. Mine will read DVD drive with the disk out and CD with the blank DVD disk in.
