This has been the biggest headache ever. I have a stock ION drum rocker and i bought the roadie2 coupler that comes with an extra roadie U pedal. I hook everything up that came with it right, but when I try it out for the first time its terrible it barely registers any kicks and you have to push it like 3 times to hear it kick once. I was reading up on another site and the guy said that the 1/8" to 1/4" cables that go from each pedal to the coupler have to be mono on both ends. Well one of mine was stereo so I went and got another mono one. He also stated that the cable going from the coupler to the ION brain had to be 1/4" stereo from the coupler and 1/4" mono into the brain so I searched everywhere for a cable like that and had no luck. I ended up getting a 1/4" mono to 1/4" stereo adapter from RadioShack. The problem is that when i have the adapter plugged in it just doesn't work at all and without the adapter its just as spotty as it was before when i didn't have the new cables for the pedals. I just don't know what to do. Maybe I have a faulty coupler or something I just don't know. If anyone has this setup working maybe they could give me some insight as to what I've done wrong. Thanks!
hmm i would think it should come with all the correct pieces to make it work right out of the box. Im thinking something might be faulty like you said. I have never played rockband so i cant give much first hand advice. good luck
Well I've been reading up on it and what I've gathered is that this only affects the ION drumset and not the official Rock Band kits. The guy on the other site told me to find a 1/4" mono to 1/4" stereo cable and I cannot find one on the web anywhere. I have an adapter that the guy at RadioShack said would work but it just makes everything stop working so if anyone could point me somewhere that I could find a cable like that I would be grateful.
i checked around but cant find that type of adapter or cable either. i did find this on the drumrocker faq at http://drumrocker.com/products/faqs.php not much help but where did the guy that said this work get his at? Q: Will the Drum Rocker use the same connection (as the standard Harmonix Rock Band kit) for the foot pedal? The reason I ask is because I've already purchased a pair of Omega pedals. A: The Harmonix foot pedal has an 1/8" output, while the Drum Rocker pedal has a 1/4" output. While you may be able to connect your aftermarket pedals to the Drum Rocker module by adapting the output from 1/8" to 1/4", the module was designed to be used with the Drum Rocker pads and pedal, so we can't guarantee performance with other manufacturer's products.
