hi just wondering as i have a a780 (and people are worryed about getin done)would peer guardian or any other program(free)help to hide what your provider sees thanks dan
you can use free proxies. personally i have never used this solution as i would not wish all my private information being redirected through a proxy i know nothing about. vpn tunnelling is also possible but all vpn tunnelling does is hide the data transmitted within the tunnel. it does not hide the connection address data.
Fintannl you seem to be an expert in vpn. I've googled this and cannot find any where where I could set up a vpn on the N router. I downloaded a free vpn on to my pc, but I assume that my pc would have to stay on all the time. Any ideas how I would apply some sort of masking on the router for the cable box?
for a company administrator it really isn't any issue. its simply using a server box to control aspects of behaviour internal to the company network. as a private user there is little you can control. you can, of course, direct your paypal ebay information through a proxy if you wish (not a good idea). you can vpn tunnel to a server to mask the data transmitted to the server but you cannot mask your connection data. my choice is simple. i use a provider which is not a tv provider for internet access. i do not have to trust them simply because they must adhere by strict codes of conduct. yes they must maintain records for up to five years but they are not forced to pass such information on to competitors. so your choice i hope is made for you
