Hi all, i have my pc wirelessly linked to a router to go online. seperatly i have my pc linked (via ethernet) to my xbox (1 or 360) so that my xbox can find my pc's internet connection and go online. But for some reason i now cant connect to the xbox. i get the error of 'the network did not assign a network address to the computer' if i set it up manually i simply cant connect to the 'box although there is no error. could this be a router problem? also where is the Lan trying to get a network address from? the internet is also fine on the computer. any ideas? help!
You have'nt by any chance installed any new firewall or anti-virus software have you? Have'nt changed any settings in said software? I am correct in assuming that the xbox is directly connected to your pc and it's the pc that is directlty connected to the router?
yeah xbox to pc (wired) then pc to router (wireless) yes i did indeed get norton systemworks recently but have checked everthing i can think of in it, firewall etc. and to no avail... anything specific i could check for?
