I bought a 3G iPhone 16gb off ebay that had the factory 3.1 firmware on it. I downgraded it to 3.0 and jailbroke it with redsn0w and then unlocked it with ultrasn0w. I put in my girlfriend's Centennial sim card and all I got was searching and then no service. I'm completely new to this so I'm really confused. I ran some Fuzzyband app and it said that the bootloader is 06.02 and the baseband is 05.11.07. Is there anything I can do to get service or am I screwed until something new comes out? Thank you for any help.
how did you unlock it with ultrasnow? last i heard you could jailbreak the 3.1 FW, but it didnt install cydia, and therefor you couldnt install ultrasnow. edit-- without getting up and looking at what my baseband is (jailbroken 3g with 3.0 FW), it could be a problem with the baseband. i recall reading that the 3.1 update updated the baseband and there was no way of downgrading it back to the older ones.
didn't install cydia? I have a 3g with cydia installed on it. I haven't tried unlocked it yet however, because I don't need to just being on ATT though.
last i heard (a few weeks ago when 3.1 was released) you could jailbreak the phone and all, but it wasnt capable of installing cydia, which to me would mean no option of installing ultrasnow since its done within cydia. apparently though you can install cydia on a 3.1 device.
hm... interesting. I have 3.1 jailbroken on my iphone with cydia and icy installed. Haven't tried ultrasnow like I said because haven't needed it yet. I built the ipsw on a mac since I have one. That is the only OS capable of jailbreaking 3.1 firmware right now. If you need/want one, pm me, and I'll make, upload one to my site, and send you a link.
