Iphone 3g with tmobile servie and data plan?

    I am about to purchase an iphone 3g but i want to know if i can use it on tmobile's network, and will the internet(i have the sidekick data plan) still work? And if so what tools or software do I need to do it with? Thanks

    you buying it new or used? if new, it wont work unless its way old stock and has baseband of 4.26.08-if its used, go to settings-general-about and look at carrier. if its anything other than 4.26.08, it wont work.
