I've tried every method I could possible find and none worked....so please help...

My 3GS was jailbroken and working perfectly fine for sometime but yesterday due to network problem, I was advised to reset the network - the phone rebooted. Big mistake. The phone went into recovery mode and asked to plug into iTune for restore.

This happened before but this time it shows an error 1013 when trying to update the firmware. I seached and tried the @press and hold power/home button@ to boot into DTU mode - no luck. Same error.

I tried restoring with an custom firmware, still same error.

The only way I can get the phone to boot up is to use blackra1n but the phone wouldn't be able to register onto my network nor I can connect to Wifi etc. It keeps asking to be restore - which I can't as it will show the 1013 error. I even reinstalled windows back to Vista from Windows 7 to make sure that it is not affecting it. I also used another USB able but still no joy...

I am quite desperate here as I don't have another phone to use...

Any help and suggestions will be appreciated..

    Thanks!

With the 3GS (and only the 3GS model) there is a problem that when you use the Blackra1n jailbreak method the phone will go into recovery mode everytime the phone is turned off and then back on. This is due to Apple trying to fix the loop hole allowing people to jailbreak their phones.

The only way to get round this at the moment is that when the phone is switched back on you then need to use the Blackra1n application on windows to boot the phone out of the recovery mode.

Also there seems to be a wifi issue with jailbreaking the phone using the Blackra1n software and i have heard that using the push fix 2.0 (you can find this in cydia or google this) can help fix this option and costs 5$ as resetting the network settings can result in you losing all your stuff on your phone and then having to recover it through itunes.

    Hope this helps

One correction. It only effects new 3Gs (Built after Oct 2009), older 3Gs have the old bootrom still.

I have also heard the wifi issue only effects users that used blacksnow to unlock there phone for any provider. Jail breaking has not effected the wifi on my 3G or 3Gs.

    Cheers
