I currently have a Kenwood deck in my car and I got the adapter to use the data cable to attach my iPhone. My mom recently got a new CR-V and it came with an AUX input. I love being able to hear my calls through the car speakers. So now I want a new deck but I was wondering if I will get better audio from the headphone jack or from the data cable. I would think that the data cable offers better quality since it's transmitting the actual data rather than just the sound. I would really like the headphone to AUX option for using the phone, but I do not want to sacrifice the quality of the music. Another thing, if the quality loss is minimal, I might consider it.

Please advise. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

I would guess the AUX option will give you better sound becuase it is a stronger signal. Remember both cables are just wire. I am sure the difference is neglagable. I would go for ease of use. Both connections have obvious pros and cons. The Aux is a no brainer since it is more versitile. It also allows you to preamp the music. Louder usually does sound better if the speakers are good enough. That is becuuse you can't hear the higher pitched sounds unless they are loud.
