ive had this 30g ipod classic for quite a while. It always had a few problems but worked overall. The other day it froze on the main screen. I could move the hold button and it would recognize that but the button pad wouldnt work at all. I plugged it into the computer..charges fine but still when i disconnect it, it wont work at all. i feel liek throwing it across the commons (im at school right now)but id still be out an ipod and have to buy another one of those junky music players. the other problems it had were the back button wouldnt work to go back in songs. and the battery died a little fast.
so you try to reset it, by holding the menu+center wait until it powers off then release the menu and press and hole center+play until you see a check on the ipod screen, connected to itunes and hit restore, now if when you hit the menu plus center you get no response means your click wheel crapt out, you then have a few choices send it in for repairs is gonna put you out about $60.00 uds you can get the part and do it your self that's about $35.00 you have to open your ipod and replace the click wheel, pretty simple if you are techy, or you can get from the apple site you can get last year model 80gb classic for about $170.00 that's half the cost of a new one that is 120gb $249.00 lol Good luck Ipod Parts
