Ipod 4g click-wheel trouble

    hello, i've been looking on these forums for a while, and with no luck i decided to start my own. well you see ive have my little ipod 4g (black and white scren) and i have broken the ribbon that connect the click wheel to the logic board, is there any way i can turn it on with out using the click wheel and use it as a external HD? thanks
