First off, sorry if this has been posted before but I've looked high and low for a solutions and can't find any.

I got an ipod mini for christmas about 2 years ago and everything was fine up until about a week ago when the battery went flat.

I connected my ipod to the power to charge it, and after the apple boot logo, this image appeared

and then the ipod went off.

So i plugged it into usb (i dont have firewire) and i can access it, i restored its original settings but still get the little folder thing.

I opened itunes which told me a software update for ipod was available so i downloaded that, itunes then told me to disconnect the ipod and connect to power to reflash which i did but i still got the folder error.

Connected it back to PC, and itunes still says a software update is available, so i've concluded my ipod isn't reflashing.

    I have also tried:
    # resetting ipod (menu+select)
    # restoring ipod with the firmware that came when i bought it

But still no luck, any help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks

Well after reading everything, I've concluded that I will have to send it off for repairs so i'm just gonna buy a nano :)
