Ipod nano 1st Gen Device Not Recognized

    When i plug my ipod nano into my computer the computer doesnt recognize the device...For starters its not the itunes,the cord, or stuff like that.I plugged my girlfriends ipod in and it works and is recognized fine.I have reset the ipod numerous times, uninstalled and reinstalled itunes, put it into disk mode...when i do that and plug it into my computer it stays at the same screen...Please help me out

    You might be lucky and that it is the connection on your ipod that is bad or it is just too old. I got one that I use heavily. The wheel does not always work right. Mine is 4 years old. I figure it doesn't owe me anything. It might last out the year. This is what I will do when it dies... I would toss it, buy a returned 16 g Sanas with a 2 year warentee, view install media monkey and have it import your itunes. You will think you have died and gone to heaven. I bought my wife that package a few months ago. It was less than $100 including shipping. It was like 65,15,8. The Sansa plays all types of music. It can take up to a 32 g chip to extend the memory. It is a delight to use. The same with Media Monkey. Some itunes users get confused because it is feature rich but as you grow into it you will like the choices.
