I plugged my ipod nano into a not-grounded computer and it never worked again. What should i do? I think the problem is that it got "burned" but can i send it somewhere to be repaired or it is dead forever
Ok tell me what is it doing, do you see anything at all on the screen? do you hear any clicks. does the screen flashes? and is the battery need charging. First charging the ipod, plug it to the pc and leave it for about 30 minutes, if the batter is totally dead it will take a fee minutes to get charged enought for it to show on itunes. Second if you know the ipod have some charge on it, try putting it on disk mode, by pressing the menu and center button at the same time, wait for the apple logo then release the menu and press play and center button at the same time until you see a check mark on the screen, now you can connect to the computer and restore it from itunes. Good Luck.
well im affraid, if you tryed everything, you are out of luck, i never heard of a ipod dying from been plug onto a ungrounded computer but it could happend all electronic have sensitive parts in them., well if the ipod was old the bad news is it will probably cost alot to get repaired, the good news is now you have an excuse to get your self a new one, you can get a new 4gb nano with video for about 160 usd or 8 gb for about 220 usd, or you can search craigslist dot org on your country or state and find a good used ipod for half the price of a new one.
