No iTunes is not compulsory to transfer tunes. You CAN use Media Player and I do believe the modified detals will also go onto the mp3 player :) hope this helped

    Hi

you cannot really use media player.Well you kind of can. You go onto file then click import. then you go to you music files and import them like that way. or just put in an audio cd that you want to be on your ipod and on the left-hand side of itunes there is a symbol representing audio cd. then click on import and the files will be converted to your libary. to put the songs onto your ipod go to file then click update ipod to put those songs you newly added to your itunes libary

    Hope this is usefull
