I just bought the AV Cable from apple, and with the video u have to activate a setting for the videos to play on the tv. but as i will be travelling shortly, i may want to play just mp3's through the use of this cable. When i tried this at home it wouldnt play music on the tv unless it was a "video" nor did i find a setting which could allow it to be done. Any suggestions?
yes i can play video and get sound but cant play mp3's or any other format thats just music.... seems a bit unusual to me. My other mp3 player (old one) no problems.
ok go Videos=> Video Settings=> TV Sgnal, if it is NTSC change it to PAL, if it is PAL change it to NTSC! Are you plaing it over a Stero or TV? If it dosent work change your settings back to norman. ~Domreis
That's not his problem he's trying to play songs through the a/v cable, not videos. The iPod doesn't output any video on the TV for anything unless it is a video, the sound should work fine though. And if the sound doesn't work I can't think of any reasons it wouldn't be working. The iPod a/v cable connects to the headphone jack correct?
I too also have the Apple AV Cable and, and I have the same question. But the cable will play songs on my Sony TV, but not any others.
Yes the AV cable connects to the headphone jack When connected to the TV: - videos option: videos play-yes, sound-yes - music section: videos N/A, sound-NO When connected to my surround sound system. Music plays fine, whether its from the video section or just the music section. I dont understand why mp3's on its own cant play on the tv!
If you plug the Av cable into the tv do you plug all 3 adio/video jacks in? Are you going to video one if it is pluged into video one?
I'll try playing through a TV with my non-Apple cord later, but mine play fine through my stereo. I'll get back to you in an hour or two.
