i have a problem. i own an ipod classic 80 gb and all my music is in my macbook's 80 gb hdd. see the problem???
the most logical solution is to buy a larger hdd for my laptop, BUT what if i could buy an external HDD and transfer my itunes library there an change the settings of itunes so every time a rip a cd i will store the music at the portable HDD. well the second solution is just an idea, i don't know if is possible thats why i am asking you guys, IS IT POSSIBLE ????
    P.D i really hope so.

    Yes it is.

An external hard drive will create a new drive in your computer. All you will have to do is to move the iTunes folder to that hard drive and install iTunes on that hard drive and then manage your iPod using the iTunes installed on that hard drive.

Also, when you rip a CD or such, you will have to change the output folder to the external hard drive.
