How do I put music on this thing?

I installed quicktime and itunes that was on the install cd.

I tried to format the ipod but it was takeing way to long so I canceled out,

I plug it in and it acts as a flash drive I put the music on there But it just wont play.

I also used windows to sync to device.
I have another MP3 player that works great.

    What Im I doing wrong?

    thank you

iPod's are particularly picky when it comes to putting MP3's on them. You need to transfer all MP3's on the device with iTunes. When you insert your Shuffle in a USB port, iTunes should start up with the iPod icon in the left pane. Just drag your song files onto the iPod icon.

Try restoring your iPod. If you're having problems doing that, you could have a problem with the flash memory. I've had that problem before and I actually had to send it back to Apple.

    Thank you,

I downloaded the restore app. from there website and All is good now.

    Thanks again

I remember when I first installed It took for ever to format so I unpluged it then when I redid it, it said ipod did not need formated.

I think that could have been a problem.
(unplugging it while it was formating)

also I was not going to Safely Remove hardware, Before takeing out my ipod, I guess this could also have been a problem Im not sure.

Yeah, most likely it is what caused the problem. Glad to hear it's working for you now :)
