iPod Shuffle.. no Install cd.. mac

    hey! my friend has an iPod Shuffle that they recived from a friend.. but no installation CD.. and they have a Mac.. so when they plug in their ipod shuffle into their mac and load itunes up to transfer music to the ipod, it doesnt recognize that the ipod is connected.. is there any place to download the install data for the ipod? i checked the apple site but it just seems to have updates.. or is there a may to make it become recognized by itunes without the installing process? thanks!

    There is one thing going on I can think of. (1) The ipod shuffle is in windows format so the mac os won't reconize it.

    That site has the install software you need. It sounds like the flash memory became corrupted, as it should be recognized by the Mac regardless of if it was configured to a PC or Mac. [Mac can recognize an iPod formatted to PC, but a PC can not recognize an iPod formatted to a Mac]

    Once you have that download the iPod should be recognized. If it still isn't run the software to restore the iPod. I don't know what else you can do on a Mac to fix an iPod. But if he has access to a PC just let me know and I'll give you the walkthrough for that :)
