I went out an' found an iPod shuffle, the original one, second hand at the pawnbrokers, but it didn't come with an installation cd.

(Probably why it was so cheap)

I have the latest version of iTunes and I am running Windows Xp. Any suggestions on where on can get my hands on the software I'm after?

Already tried. I got iTunes from Apple.com, and Quicktime has updated itself to the latest version.

I think it might be wrecked. . .

Sounds like it. If there was a way to get the shuffle into disk mode you could mount it, but the shuffle does not support being put into disk mode. Try a hard reset of the shuffle besides that your out of luck
