ok so i have an ipod photo thats click wheel has broke. i got a video for christmas, so i want to just turn it into a mini usb drive now. The reason being that i want to load games off of it for the ps2 using swapmagic. So my question is... how do i format it to be in the ntfs file system? right clicking doesnt work, and going thru disk management doesn't work either. Is there any free software that can make this happen? BTW ive heard that once you format in ntfs you can never use your ipod as an ipod again and im fine with that, i bought it used and its ALL scratched up, and wouldn't even be worth fixing the click wheel cause the screen has too thick of scratches on it. thanks for any help
So, you just want to make it like a Portable HDD? Because, when I did that to mine, I just plugged it up to the Computer, and then just started dragging files to the Drive, and it worked fine. You could try that and see if it works.
well the problem is that its in fat 32 and you cant drag large files into that file system, which i need to load ps2 games (~4gb)off of a drive instead of using a dvd (which will save the laser from burning out again)im thinking of trying some sort of partition software, but not sure which one (free) to use. any ideas?
update* the ipod is letting me drag large files onto it... but i still do need it to be in ntfs to be able to play the games off of it... right now im trying different partition software apps to format it, but no success so far
