ipod video need help

my ipod video 30gb is being stupid it won't connect to the computer when i plug it in and i already have it in disk mode

 

Can you see it as an iPod or Removable Disk in 'My Computer'?

 

niether i think its the cord and im hoping it is cause then i could just get a replacement i got it to work a few times but istill have the same problems

 

At the Apple website you can get a new cord for free, as long as you return the old one when you get the new one.

 

It seems doesn't work well?What's wrong?
