I was restoring my iPod video (G5) 80GB earlier today, it took really long. I was waiting for more than 10 minutes so I decided to take out the cable while it was restoring it, yeah I know its a really stupid thing to do but at the time i had no choice as i needed to take it somewhere and didnt have time to wait.

So when I took it out, the ipod restarted. It got to the black screen where it shows just an apple and then a little loading bar at the bottom. After that it just kept showing a black screen with the apple logo (no loading bar this time), and it just keeps showing that now.
You can hear the HD spinning up and then suddenly stopping every 5 seconds.

I've tried connecting it back to my PC and Mac but it doesnt show up at all on neither one of them.

Can someone give me some advice on how to fix the iPod?

this sounds like a hard drive problem here is my solution it is expensive but it will more then likely work

get a copy of spinrite http://www.grc.com
    buy ipod opening tools http://www.pdasmart.com/products/AP75ipodpartscenter5g.htm
then buy a ipod hard drive to pc connector http://www.welovemacs.com/1625hdcable.html

open up your ipod take out the drive plug it up to your motherboard wit the ipod connector cable boot up your computer and run spinrite on the ipods drive, I can almost guarantee that this will work but it just costs a lot of money

Is there no other option? (one that require not to buy anything or take anything apart)

you can probably try to run spinrite on the ipod plugged up through the USB cord but I think the drive has to be connected to the motherboard. It might be cheaper, or cost the same to send your ipod in to pdasmart or something and have them put a new drive in it
